Clements & Co Solicitors Home About Us Services Contact details

All solicitors firms are obliged by the Solicitors Regulation Authority to provide details of its standard fees on their websites.  Our view is that it is impossible to adopt a ‘one size fits all’ approach to fees information given the diversity of the legal matters we encounter.  Two cases are rarely the same, however as we are obliged to provide information, we do so here.  All fees are shown excluding Value Added Tax and disbursements which must be added on.  Further details are available on request.

Residential Conveyancing:  Purchase or sale up to £200,000 - £595, above £200,000, from £695. Commercial Conveyancing, lease assignment etc: from £750, for a new lease - £1,500 upwards.

Wills and Probate: Basic Will - £150.  Probate: taking instructions and gathering information, completing inheritance tax forms and obtaining the Grant - from £1,000.  Distributing the estate: historically our lowest fee was £1,000, our highest fee was £50,000, but it is generally toward the lower end and a more detailed figure can be provided when we have been given the facts of the matter and the extent of the estate.

Litigation: We can provide an initial letter for say a money debt, for £100. Small County Court claims can be as low as £500 to commence (plus the Court fee).  We usually progress court claims at the guideline hourly rate which is between £126 for a paralegal to £255 for solicitors with more than eight years experience.

There are a number of ancillary fees applicable which are available on request.  Family matters are generally charged at the hourly rates referred to above.
